G230 isn't supported with the Gaming Software. Try connecting your headset to a different USB port on your computer. TL DR my Logitech G230 headset quality was very poor, which was the sole reason for the static not an issue with OBS. I am currently using a Blue Yeti Pro, and have not encountered any more 'unexplained' static. quality that was causing the static, not OBS as I had previously though. Be sure your headset isn't set to 'Mute'. As it turned out, it was just the G230's mic. NOTE: Some headsets include a mute button. Verify that the microphone isn't set to 'Mute' in either your operating system's audio settings or chat application.
Right click your headset and select 'Properties'. Go to the area that lists your headset (probably 'Sound, video and game controllers') 3. Try an older version of the gaming software Adjust the microphone volume on your computer or chat application. There is, and quite a few people have said it fixed their Logitech microphone issues. Uninstall then re-install the gaming software

I tested this also with 'Voice Recorder' on the Windows 10 PC. When I record my voice with OBS Studio from Discord, my microphone volume is really low and in order to hear the playback audio, I would have to put the headset/speaker volume to 80% in order to hear my voice.
